Primarily consisting of skilled care and independent living, Royals Oaks’ initial intent was to add assisted living to their continuum of care on a newly purchased four-acre parcel. The programming and master planning process revealed that the community would be better served by adding the assisted living component at the core of the 38.62-acre campus, placing it adjacent to skilled care, connected by a new common area. After reviewing the community’s goals, it was determined that the new parcel presented opportunities to enhance the independent component with life enrichment elements, additional garden homes and a parking structure for both residents and staff.

Since then, Todd & Associates has had the privilege of sharing in the evolution of the Royal Oaks community from the 59,110 sq. ft. skilled care renovation to the recently completed health & wellness center and the addition of new central dining, theater, internet lounge, bistro and a variety of indoor and outdoor common living spaces.
