The Glendale Senior Apartments is a modern four-story building comprising 148 affordable units. Mercy Housing is dedicated to supporting veterans and reducing homelessness in our community and throughout the United States. Through their “housing first” housing practice and the PSH program (Permanent Supportive Housing), they provide on-site services for their residents in exchange for volunteering their time in the community. Mercy Housing will provide 15 homes with Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) services that include on-site case management and wrap around services for senior households that are exiting homelessness with a preference for qualifying veterans.
The residents have access to a range of amenities, including a spacious community room, a well-equipped catering kitchen, an outdoor patio and dining area, bocce ball lawn, dog run, and a fitness center. In addition to the walking paths and courtyard, a community garden was incorporated into the landscape design. Comfortable seating areas shaded by trees or pergolas invite residents to enjoy the outdoors. The development has also integrated solar carports as well as rooftop solar to provide shaded parking for the residences while limiting their energy usage with renewable solar energy.
